Auto Brakes Produce Rattling Sound On Braking

Rattling sounds on brakes is an indication of loose brake parts, as you know brakes have different parts which have a tendency to get loose thereby causing a rattling sound that coming out from the brakes itself.

The possible sounds origin comes from parts depending on the type of the brakes, just as there are many brake parts but the most likely to loose and can cause a rattling sound that is noticeable is mainly two parts, for instance if the sounds comes from a drum brakes, usually located on the rear suspension, the possible cause is neither the return springs that pulls the brake shoe back after the released of the brakes nor the retaining springs that properly hold the position of brake shoe.

As for the disc brakes, the sounds is neither comes from anti-rattle springs that keeps the pad from rattling as well as secure the brake pads from looseness nor the caliper mounting bolts that secures the caliper to the support bracket.

On either case, if you are not skilled enough to correct the problem it is recommended to bring the vehicle to a reputable shop and have a mechanic to inspect the brake where the sound is coming from and correct the problem.
