Car Initially Starts But Will Not Continue Running

If you start your vehicle (vehicles with carburetor) and initially it will start then after a while the engine suddenly stop, there are a lot of possible reason for this problem depending on the condition.

To diagnose the problem you must do the following.

Start the engine, and then from the neutral position keep you’re put on the accelerator pedal and observe if it will continuously run, then try to take off your foot on the accelerator pedal and observe if the engine will not stay running. If the engine will not stay running, the problem would be the choke, because by keeping the pressure on the accelerator, the choke remains on the position which will keep the engine running.
